APC Supporters Urge National Leadership to Tackle Jigawa Crisis

A coalition of All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters in Jigawa State has asked the party’s national leadership to address alleged cases of indiscipline and anti-party activities among members in the state.

Chairman of the coalition, Engr. Saidu Ibrahim Uba, made the call on Monday in Dutse while reacting to the crisis that broke out on Sunday during a political gathering in Kafin-Hausa, the home local government of Governor Umar Namadi.

The event, organised to honour APC chieftain, Hon. Zakari Sidi Kafin-Hausa, coincided with a pro-President Bola Tinubu rally but ended in violence, leaving several people injured and vehicles vandalised. Political thugs were said to have invaded the venue, disrupting proceedings and attacking attendees.

Uba urged the APC national headquarters to investigate the incident and sanction those found culpable. He said the party must reinforce discipline and loyalty to safeguard unity and peace in the state.

“It is unacceptable that individuals occupying positions of responsibility will engage in acts that divide the party and endanger peace,” he said, adding that the group remains loyal to Governor Namadi and the APC leadership.

The coalition also condemned alleged inciting and derogatory remarks against the governor and party leaders in the state.

The clash reportedly involved supporters loyal to Governor Namadi and another faction allegedly linked to the Minister of Defence.
