Abuja–Lokoja Highway Roars Back to Life: Gov. Ododo Applauds Tinubu, Umahi

Hope is rising along the Abuja–Lokoja corridor as Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for rekindling long-lost momentum on one of Nigeria’s most strategic highways.
Speaking during an impromptu stop at the project site in Koton-Karfe, Governor Ododo described the ongoing reconstruction as a defining moment in Nigeria’s push for infrastructure renewal and national unity.
“This is no longer a forgotten road. Under President Tinubu, it has become a path to progress,” the Governor said. “This is what the Renewed Hope Agenda looks like when it’s alive and working.”
Governor Ododo hailed the President’s foresight and praised the Minister of Works, Engr. Dave Umahi, for transforming bold policy into visible progress. He described the duo as a “coalition of development” working to reconnect regions and revive Nigeria’s economic arteries.
“Years ago, this road was dismissed as a dead end, a project without purpose. Today, it is a lifeline. It connects the North and South—not just in trade, but in trust and togetherness,” he noted.
Ododo encouraged construction workers on site to see themselves as heroes of the national journey. “You are not just laying asphalt—you are laying foundations for future generations. Keep your heads high. Your work is history in motion,” he charged.
The Governor also issued a powerful reminder to citizens to look beyond the noise of politics and focus on the visible dividends of good governance. He reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC-led government and urged Nigerians to support President Tinubu’s administration through prayer, patience, and participation.
“This road is more than concrete. It’s a symbol that Nigeria is moving forward—and no one is left behind,” Ododo concluded.
