FG Approves ₦1 Billion for Police Training Institute in Jigawa

The Federal Government has approved the sum of ₦1 billion for the commencement of construction of a Police Training Institute in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

This was revealed by the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Police Affairs, Senator Abdulhamid Ahmed Malam Madori, during the Jigawa State Government Citizen Engagement Programme (JSGCEP) held in Kafin Hausa.

Senator Madori, who represents Jigawa Northeast Senatorial District, stated that the amount was included and approved in the 2025 federal budget. He noted that the Senate has already passed the legislation establishing the training institute, and the bill is currently awaiting presidential assent from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to the senator, the institute is aimed at producing well-trained and modernized police officers to improve policing across the country.

“I sponsored the motion for the establishment of the Police Training Institute, which was deliberated upon and passed into law by the Senate. ₦1 billion was also provided in the 2025 budget for the project, and the funds have been approved,” Madori said.

As part of efforts to boost security in the area, Senator Madori disclosed that he had donated a brand-new Toyota Hilux vehicle to the Kafin Hausa Divisional Police Headquarters. He also facilitated the renovation and furnishing of the police division and barracks to enhance the morale of officers serving in the area.

Additionally, the senator revealed that he had empowered over 8,000 youths and women in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area. He also donated over ₦5 million for the completion of the central Juma’at mosque in the community.

Senator Madori expressed appreciation to the people of Kafin Hausa for the warm reception given to him during his visit and participation in the engagement forum.
