Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State was involved in a road accident on Sunday evening along the Daura–Katsina Road, sparking concern and widespread reactions on social media.
Initial reports, including one from social media user Mohammed Jammal (popularly known as White Nigerian), suggested that the governor sustained a fracture and was receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Daura.
However, the Katsina State Government has since clarified the incident, describing the crash as a “minor” one.
In an official statement, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, confirmed that Governor Radda was in stable condition and did not sustain any serious injuries. “As a precautionary measure, he is undergoing a routine medical evaluation at a facility attended by qualified professionals,” the statement noted.

The governor, who has been in Daura several times over the past week following the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari, was reportedly returning from the area when the accident occurred.
His visible grief during Buhari’s funeral drew emotional responses from many Nigerians, as he was seen weeping during the final honours.
While the incident briefly created confusion online, the state government has urged calm and reassured the public that Governor Radda remains in high spirits.
“He expresses deep gratitude to Almighty Allah for His protection and to the people of Katsina for their prayers and well wishes,” the statement added.
