The Arewa Christian Youth Leadership Forum (ACYLF) has paid glowing tribute to Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for what it describes as her “life-changing and inclusive interventions” through the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), particularly in Northern Nigeria.
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja, ACYLF commended the First Lady for her compassionate approach to governance, citing her interventions in education, women’s empowerment, healthcare, and humanitarian aid as “a rare blend of empathy, impact, and national service.”
“Senator Tinubu has proven to be a mother to the nation, not just in words but in action,” the forum stated. “Her commitment to the welfare of vulnerable Nigerians, regardless of religion or region, sets a new benchmark in leadership.”

The First Lady’s outreach to internally displaced persons (IDPs) and flood victims across the region was singled out for praise. Notably, her ₦500 million donation to flood-affected families in Borno State, along with food and relief items, was described as “a direct response to human suffering.”
Another symbolic act that resonated deeply with Nigerians was her ₦110 million donation to the families of 22 Kano athletes who lost their lives in a tragic road accident.
The forum also lauded the First Lady’s micro-grant programs, which have supported thousands of rural women traders across the North. In Kaduna State, 1,000 women each received ₦50,000, while 500 women in Kogi and 200 in Yobe also benefitted from similar financial interventions.
These efforts, ACYLF noted, have not only helped households recover from hardship but are helping to stimulate local economic activity and foster independence among grassroots women.
Senator Tinubu’s strategic partnerships with organizations like AUDA-NEPAD and the African School of Economics have expanded opportunities for higher education. Most recently, 200 Nigerian youths were awarded scholarships through the RHI scholarship program.
In Bauchi, she commissioned an Alternative High School for Girls and an ICT centre, offering second-chance education to young women affected by early pregnancies or socioeconomic disadvantage.
The forum further acknowledged the First Lady’s ongoing efforts to improve rural healthcare access, which they say align with their own advocacy for inclusive development.
Senator Tinubu’s election to the Steering Committee of the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD) was celebrated as a continental milestone that brings greater visibility to Nigeria and the Northern region.
Highlighting her Christmas donations to Christian communities in Bauchi and peace-building initiatives during times of communal tension, ACYLF described Senator Tinubu as “a bridge between Nigeria’s diverse cultures, faiths, and communities.”
“She has shown that leadership can be compassionate and impactful without bias,” the group noted.
The forum concluded by pledging its support for the First Lady’s vision, stating that her actions reflect a new model of leadership that places people first.
“Senator Remi Tinubu is leading by example. Her Renewed Hope Initiative is not just a slogan—it is a movement that is reshaping lives across the North. We thank her and pray for continued strength and wisdom in her service to the nation.”
