Atalanta Demand £52m for Lookman Amid Arsenal Interest

Serie A side Atalanta have placed a £52 million (€61m/$71m) price tag on Ademola Lookman, as interest in the Nigerian forward intensifies ahead of the summer transfer window, according to Italian outlet Corriere della Sera.
Arsenal are reportedly leading the chase for the in-form winger, viewing him as a potential alternative to Real Madrid’s Rodrygo. However, the Gunners are said to have tabled only £43 million (plus performance-related bonuses) — a figure Atalanta consider below their valuation.
Lookman, 27, has blossomed in Bergamo since joining Atalanta from RB Leipzig in 2022. Over three seasons, he has racked up 118 appearances, 52 goals, and 25 assists across all competitions.
His most prolific campaign came last season, where he scored 15 goals and played a pivotal role in the club’s attacking force. In the 2022/23 season, the Super Eagles star was instrumental in Atalanta’s historic UEFA Europa League triumph — the first major European title in the club’s history.
Lookman’s rise has not gone unnoticed in England. Having previously had stints at Everton, Fulham, and Leicester City, a return to the Premier League could be on the cards — but only if a club is willing to meet Atalanta’s demands.
Arsenal, who are looking to add more depth and dynamism to their wide attacking options, may yet return with an improved offer, though sources close to the club indicate they are exploring other options should negotiations stall.
With the window heating up, all eyes will be on whether Lookman makes a high-profile return to England — or if Atalanta manage to keep hold of one of their most prized assets.
