The Acting National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prof. Sadiq Umar Abubakar, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of renowned industrialist and elder statesman, Alhaji Aminu Dantata.
In a statement issued in Abuja, Prof. Abubakar described the late Dantata as a legendary figure in Nigeria’s business landscape and one of the last great industrialists of his generation in Africa.
“The entire SDP family in Nigeria and beyond extends our heartfelt condolences on the demise of our father, leader, and mentor, Alhaji Aminu Dantata,” the statement read.
He noted that Dantata’s visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to enterprise development laid the foundation for numerous thriving businesses and inspired a new generation of entrepreneurs.
“His legacy is deeply woven into the fabric of Nigeria’s economic history. Through mentorship and investments in human capital, he empowered countless individuals who have gone on to become leaders in their own right,” he said.
Prof. Abubakar emphasized that Dantata’s passing is not only a loss to his family and the people of Kano State but to the entire nation, adding that his immense contributions to commerce, philanthropy, and national development will continue to inspire generations.
