Aminu Dantata, Business Legend and Philanthropist, Dies at 94

Nigeria is mourning the loss of a towering figure in its business and philanthropic circles, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, who passed away at the age of 94 in the United Arab Emirates.
Family sources revealed that the elder statesman died at around 3:00 a.m. Nigerian time on Friday at a hospital in Abu Dhabi, following a brief illness. Arrangements for his funeral are expected to be announced soon.
Born in Kano on May 19, 1931, Alhaji Dantata rose to national prominence as one of Nigeria’s foremost industrialists. Over the decades, he became a key architect of the country’s private sector growth, building an enduring legacy rooted in business excellence, integrity, and community upliftment.

He is survived by seven children, among them Alhaji Tajuddeen Aminu Dantata, as well as numerous grandchildren.
