The Edumoga Youth Association (EYA) has condemned in strong terms the brutal murder of Miss Aladi Offikwu Johnson, also known as Tessy, an indigene of Olaidu community in Okpokwu Local Government Area of Benue State, who was found dead in a hotel room in Abuja under suspicious circumstances.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the National President of the association, Alhaji Lucky Itodo, the group described the killing as heartless, decrying the increasing vulnerability of young women in the Federal Capital Territory.

Tessy was said to have checked into a hotel on 3rd Avenue, Gwarinpa, on June 16, 2025, with a yet-to-be-identified man. The man was later seen leaving the premises without her. She was discovered unconscious during a routine service check by hotel staff and was confirmed dead shortly after.
“This is a cruel and senseless act. The safety of young girls in Abuja is clearly under threat, and the authorities must act decisively,” Itodo said. “Tessy’s death is not an isolated case—ritualists and cybercriminals are now turning the capital city into a hunting ground for innocent lives.”
He called on the security agencies to immediately launch a full investigation and ensure that the perpetrator is brought to justice, warning that the incident must not be swept under the carpet.
According to him, “We are tired of the bloodshed. We cannot continue to lose our daughters to these predators. The government must rise to the occasion and secure Abuja. If the capital city is no longer safe, then the entire country is at risk.”
The EYA president also appealed to young women to be more cautious, advising them to avoid meeting strangers or entering private spaces for material reasons. “Hookup culture is dangerous. These situations often end in disaster, just as we’ve seen with this case,” he warned.
While expressing condolences to the family of the deceased, Itodo urged community leaders and the wider public to support efforts to secure justice. “We want answers, and we want action. This is about restoring dignity, justice, and the sanctity of human life.”
Meanwhile, the FCT Police Command has confirmed that an investigation into the incident is ongoing and urged the public to remain calm while officers carry out their duties.
