In a bold display of loyalty and admiration, councillors from all 287 wards across Jigawa State have unanimously passed a vote of confidence in Governor Umar Namadi — and have pledged to personally fund the purchase of his APC nomination form for a second term in 2027.
The announcement was made during a Sallah homage visit to the governor at the Government House in Dutse, where the councillors praised the administration’s achievements and reaffirmed their commitment to Governor Namadi’s leadership.
Speaking on behalf of the forum, Hon. Muhammad Yakubu Ringim of Ringim Ward described the governor’s leadership style as “a model for others to follow.”
“Your 12-point agenda has brought visible change to Jigawa. From infrastructure to social welfare, lives have been transformed,” Hon. Ringim stated. “Because of your performance, we are confident it will be easy to return to our communities and campaign for your re-election in 2027.”
He added, “We are not just endorsing you with words — we are ready to back it up. When the time comes, we will contribute from our own salaries to buy your nomination form. That’s how much faith we have in your leadership.”
The councillors also pledged to work tirelessly to ensure the APC’s victory at all levels in the 2027 elections.
Responding, Governor Namadi expressed deep appreciation for the show of support and urged the councillors to remain accountable and people-focused in their duties.
“You are the closest elected leaders to the grassroots. Always remember to fear Allah and prioritize the people’s needs in your decisions,” the governor said. “We, on our part, will continue to implement programs that improve lives at the grassroots and support you to deliver on your responsibilities.”
Governor Namadi’s administration has been widely praised for its strategic implementation of development projects and people-centered policies — a performance that now appears to have earned him early and enthusiastic backing for a second term.
