The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with indigenous energy firms following a strategic meeting with Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited (RAEC), which recently acquired Shell’s onshore assets in Nigeria.

During a courtesy visit to Finance Minister and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, RAEC Chairman Dr. Layi Fatona and CEO Engr. Tony Attah briefed the government on operational progress, noting that daily production has already exceeded 200,000 barrels.

The company pledged alignment with national priorities, including job creation, upstream growth, and community engagement.

Minister Edun praised RAEC’s strides, stressing that growing local participation in the sector signals a shift toward inclusive and sustainable economic development.

The meeting underscored the Tinubu administration’s support for indigenous players in driving Nigeria’s energy transition and long-term economic value.
