Babura Marks 2025 Children’s Day with Educational Support for Over 1,000 Pupils

Over 1,000 pupils in Babura LGA received educational support during the 2025 Children’s Day celebration, led by SA on Basic Education, Comrade Ali Mati Ali, and attended by the Governor’s Wife, Hajiya Amina Umar Namadi.
Held under the theme of empowering the next generation through education and inspiration, the event featured the distribution of learning materials, school uniforms, and a lively spelling bee competition that encouraged excellence and built confidence among pupils from across the LGA.
In her address, Hajiya Amina Umar Namadi praised the energy and promise of the young participants, describing children as “the pride of society and the leaders of tomorrow.” She reaffirmed the state government’s unwavering commitment to child development, particularly in strengthening access to quality education.

Comrade Ali Mati Ali, who coordinated the celebration, said the Children’s Day program reflects the administration’s broader educational agenda and dedication to nurturing future leaders.
He thanked Governor Mallam Umar A. Namadi, FCA, for prioritizing basic education and ensuring that no child is left behind.

“We’re building a generation that is ready to lead, innovate, and contribute meaningfully to society,” Ali Mati said. “Today’s celebration is a symbol of that mission.”

The Chairman of Babura LGA, Hon. Hamisu Muhammad Garu, also used the occasion to announce new local interventions aimed at tackling the out-of-school children crisis. He highlighted the distribution of school bags, writing materials, and uniforms as part of efforts to keep children in classrooms and support the state’s education goals.
“Our commitment is clear—we’re aligning every effort at the local level with the state’s vision to improve education access, quality, and equity,” he said.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of awards to top-performing students and schools in the spelling bee competition, with cheers from proud parents, teachers, and peers echoing across the venue. For many, it was not just a celebration—but a call to action for continued investment in the dreams of children.
