Lawmakers from Benue State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in the 2027 general elections, applauding his administration’s developmental strides and strategic investments in the state.
At a press conference held at the National Assembly on Wednesday, Senator Titus Zam (Benue North West) spoke on behalf of Senator Emmanuel Udende (Benue North East) and ten APC members of the House of Representatives from the state, declaring Tinubu as their preferred candidate.
“President Tinubu’s leadership has not only brought national transformation but has significantly impacted Benue State,” Senator Zam stated. “Our endorsement reflects both appreciation and confidence in the continuity of his vision.”

The Caucus outlined several landmark projects initiated or accelerated under President Tinubu, including, The 465-kilometre Calabar–Ebonyi–Benue–Nasarawa–Abuja Superhighway, reconstruction of the Makurdi–Aliade–Otukpo–Enugu Road, including a flyover at Wurukum roundabout, the ₦83.8 billion Buruku Bridge across the Katsina-Ala River, dualization of the 9th Mile–Otukpo–Makurdi Road and rehabilitation of the long-neglected Oju–Cross River federal road.
They also highlighted the creation of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), which aims to address socio-economic challenges in the region. Support for educational and health institutions was also noted, particularly the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo (FUHSO), which has received increased funding and infrastructure improvements.
“President Tinubu’s administration approved the establishment of an Infectious Disease Control Centre in Vandeikya to boost public health efforts in the state,” the lawmakers added.
The endorsement also pointed to progress in agriculture and housing, with notable interventions such as the Federal College of Agricultural Technology in Opialu Ojapo, the Renewed Hope Housing Estate (250 units), and an additional 1,000 units under the Pulaku resettlement initiative for displaced persons.
On financial support, the lawmakers revealed that Benue had received over ₦44 billion in federal allocations, including ₦5 billion in post-subsidy relief funds, ₦9 billion from the Infrastructure Fund, and ₦30 billion through the Subnational Intervention Fund.
While commending the federal government’s efforts to curb insecurity, they called on Governor Hyacinth Alia to enhance collaboration with federal security agencies to strengthen safety across the state.
“Insecurity must be tackled as a shared responsibility,” the lawmakers said. “We expect stronger synergy and intelligence-driven interventions from the state government.”
They concluded by pledging to use their legislative influence to attract more federal presence, rebuild conflict-affected communities, and support displaced farmers and vulnerable populations.
“Our endorsement is rooted in evidence,” Senator Zam affirmed. “President Tinubu has earned our trust, and we are confident he will lead Nigeria and Benue to greater heights if given the mandate again in 2027.”
