Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has dismissed as false and misleading, reports circulating on social media suggesting that he has declared interest in contesting the Nasarawa North Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.
A statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Addra, on Tuesday in Lafia, said the governor has not announced any political ambition beyond his current role and remains focused on fulfilling his mandate to the people of the state.
“Our attention has been drawn to a social media publication claiming that Governor Abdullahi A. Sule has declared to run for the Senate in 2027. This assertion is untrue and did not originate from the governor,” the statement said.

Addra noted that while various individuals and groups have appealed to the governor to consider contesting for the Senate, he has consistently declined such proposals.

“Governor Sule has never confirmed interest in any political office to anyone, nor has he invited anyone to discuss or promote a Senate bid,” the statement added.

The governor, according to the statement, remains committed to delivering good governance and completing his developmental agenda for the state.

“He is resolute in his mission to leave Nasarawa better than he met it,” Addra emphasized.
While appreciating the goodwill and support from citizens, the statement urged supporters to remain focused on the present administration’s goals and avoid distractions.

“Governor Sule is grateful for the love and endorsements but urges everyone to join hands in achieving the objectives of his administration,” the statement concluded.
