In a major political shake-up, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC)
The announcement was made by Senator James Manager during a press briefing attended by notable figures, including former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, who served as the PDP’s vice-presidential candidate in the 2023 elections.
Also present was the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor, alongside other top PDP stakeholders.
Manager stated that the entire PDP structure in the state has now been absorbed into the APC, signaling a complete political realignment.
He confirmed that a formal declaration by Governor Oborevwori will take place on Monday.
“This move is in the best interest of Delta State’s development,” Manager emphasized.
With this development, Delta officially becomes an APC state.
