As Muslims around the world celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Fitr, the Governor of Niger State, Mohammed Umaru Bago, and the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abdulmalik Sarkindaji, have urged the Muslim Ummah to remain dedicated to the worship of Allah beyond the Ramadan period.

In their separate messages, they congratulated the Muslim community across Nigeria on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, describing it as a spiritually enriching exercise.

Governor Bago, in a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, reminded the Muslim faithful that the teachings of the Quran and Hadith emphasize peace, love, discipline, and humility.
He stressed that the worship of Allah should not be limited to Ramadan but should be a lifelong commitment.

While expressing gratitude to Allah for His guidance throughout the fasting period, the governor highlighted the significance of Eid-el-Fitr, which revolves around love, charity to the less privileged, and peaceful coexistence with people of other faiths.
He called on Muslims to use this occasion to pray for enduring peace in Nigeria, particularly in Niger State, and for leaders to continue serving humanity selflessly.

Reaffirming his commitment to the “New Niger” agenda, Governor Bago assured citizens of his dedication to fostering an inclusive and progressive state where everyone has a sense of belonging.

Similarly, Speaker Sarkindaji, in a statement issued by Mairo Adamu Mani, Acting Head of the Media and Public Relations Directorate, extended warm felicitations to all Muslims in Niger State and beyond.

“On behalf of the leadership and members of the 10th Assembly, I extend heartfelt congratulations to the Muslim Ummah on the successful completion of this year’s Ramadan fasting,” the statement read.

The Speaker lauded the unity and dedication demonstrated by Muslims during Ramadan, describing the period as one of fasting, reflection, and spiritual growth.
He noted that the holy month has drawn Muslims closer to Allah and strengthened their bond with one another.

Using the Eid-el-Fitr celebration as a platform, Sarkindaji called on Nigerians to continue praying for the present administration, expressing optimism that ongoing economic reforms will bring about the desired changes in the country.

He specifically urged the people of Niger State to support the administration of Governor Bago in realizing the “New Niger” vision.

Furthermore, the Speaker assured that the 10th Assembly would continue enacting laws that positively impact the lives of citizens.
He emphasized the role of Ramadan in fostering unity, empathy, and compassion among Muslims and non-Muslims alike, encouraging all Nigerians to uphold the spirit of togetherness and promote peace and understanding across the nation.
