Senate President Godswill Akpabio has praised Senator Basheer Lado (CON) for his exceptional performance as Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Senate Matters, highlighting his role in maintaining absolute confidentiality in communications between the Presidency and the Senate.
Speaking at Lado’s office in Abuja on Thursday, Akpabio described his efforts as unprecedented, crediting him with enhancing executive-legislative relations and ensuring seamless communication.
“Since Senator Lado assumed office, there has not been a single leak of private correspondence between the Presidency and the Senate,” Akpabio stated. “Uncontrolled leaks can threaten national security, but Lado has upheld the highest standards of confidentiality and governance.”
He further noted that Lado’s role has reinforced the principle of separation of powers while fostering cooperation between the two arms of government.
Beyond governance, Akpabio emphasized Lado’s political influence, asserting that Kano is now firmly aligned with the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections.
“With Lado, Deputy Senate President Senator Barau Jibrin, and APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, Kano is already secured for APC,” he declared.
In response, Senator Lado hailed Akpabio as a statesman and a pillar of unity, commending his unwavering support for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“Your presence here, Mr. Senate President, signifies the harmony between the Executive and the Legislature,” Lado remarked. “Your steadfast support for the President has been instrumental in advancing governance through legislative action.”
He also lauded Akpabio’s leadership in championing government policies and ensuring effective collaboration between the legislative and executive arms.
Akpabio’s endorsement further cements Lado’s reputation as a key player in the administration, balancing legislative efficiency, confidentiality, and political strategy for APC. As 2027 draws closer, his role is expected to be even more crucial in shaping the party’s electoral prospects.
