The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has refuted speculation surrounding the death of retired Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Shikfu Parradang, clarifying that he was not kidnapped.

Police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh stated that Parradang was found dead in his hotel room at Joy House Hotel, Abuja, dismissing earlier rumors of an abduction and murder.

According to the police, Parradang checked into the hotel on March 3, 2025, around noon, arriving in a black Mercedes Benz and paying ₦22,000 for a one-night stay.
He later invited a female guest to his room, who departed the premises at approximately 4:00 PM.

Concerns arose when Parradang remained unresponsive.
A friend, a military officer, traced him to the hotel at about 4:00 AM on March 4.
Upon reaching his room with the receptionist, they found him lifeless, seated in a chair.

Authorities have urged the public to avoid misinformation, stressing that an investigation is underway to determine the cause of death.

“The Command remains committed to a thorough inquiry into the circumstances of his passing and urges restraint from spreading unverified reports,” Adeh emphasized.

The incident continued to generate discussions as Nigerians await official findings on what led to Parradang’s sudden demise.
