Yar’adua Honors Fallen Heroes, Calls for Renewed Commitment to Security in Katsina

In a poignant visit to Safana Local Government Area, Senator Abdul’aziz Yar’adua of Katsina Central paid tribute to 23 fallen Sakai security personnel who lost their lives in a January 7 terrorist attack in Kwantan Bauna, Baure town.
The attack underscores the persistent insecurity plaguing Katsina State and other northern regions.
Accompanied by key state officials, including Deputy Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly Hon. Abduljalal Runka, Yar’adua offered heartfelt condolences to the grieving families and the Emir of Ruma, Hakimin Batsari.
His visit served as both a symbol of solidarity and a call to action against the growing tide of banditry.
In a compassionate gesture, Senator Yar’adua presented N50,000 to each bereaved family, totaling N1.15 million, to support them during their time of grief.
While acknowledging that no monetary compensation could replace their loss, he emphasized the need to honor the sacrifices of the fallen officers.
“These brave men gave their lives to protect our communities,” Yar’adua said. “Their courage must inspire us to intensify our collective efforts in the fight against insecurity. Their sacrifices will not be forgotten.”
The visit reignited conversations about the urgent need for sustainable solutions to the state’s security challenges. Beyond expressing condolences, Yar’adua’s presence highlighted the responsibility of government leaders to address the root causes of insecurity and support grassroots security efforts like the Sakai.
