Timi Frank Slams Wike Over Elderly Disrespect, Urges Mental Health Check, Sobriety

In a scathing rebuke, former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has urged the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyesom Wike, to desist from insulting elder statesmen if he hopes to earn similar reverence in the future.
Frank, who made this statement in Abuja, described Wike’s recent verbal attacks on prominent figures—including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, former Rivers Governor Dr. Peter Odili, and Labour Party’s presidential candidate Mr. Peter Obi, as an affront to decency and decorum.
“Wike needs thorough soul-searching and a mental re-examination,” Frank asserted. “No sane individual treats elders with such brazen disrespect unless influenced by intoxicants or harmful substances.”
Frank accused Wike of acting out of character and advised him to seek medical evaluation to determine whether his behaviour is deliberate or symptomatic of deeper issues.
“We know Wike desires to live long and attain elder statesman status, but his present disdain and lack of respect for older leaders could come back to haunt him,” Frank warned.
Frank also urged Wike to refrain from interfering in the governance of Rivers State, stressing that his inability to move on since leaving office has hindered the state’s development.
“Governor Fubara deserves a chance to lead without Wike’s suffocating presence,” he said.
In a sharp personal critique, Frank advised the FCT Minister to address his public speaking habits by engaging a speech therapist.
“Wike needs to stop being garrulous and loquacious, or risk turning his verbal tirades toward President Tinubu when his political fortunes shift,” Frank added.
Frank, who is the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) Ambassador to East Africa and the Middle East, further cautioned Wike against ridiculing past benefactors such as Peter Odili, former President Goodluck Jonathan, and Rotimi Amaechi, whose support had helped him ascend politically.
The statement concluded with Frank urging Wike to adopt sobriety and introspection as a pathway to redemption, emphasizing that leadership demands grace, humility, and respect for elders.
