Kogi Assembly okays nominees for ERC, FRC amid mourning

The Kogi State House of Assembly has endorsed nominees for top positions in the Electricity Regulatory Commission (ERC) and the Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC), charging them to deliver efficient service despite the Assembly’s somber mood following the death of its former Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Paul Enema.

The Chairman and Commissioner nominees were confirmed after their screening at a Committee of the Whole in a confirmatory hearing during plenary sitting on the floor of the House at the Assembly Complex in Lokoja.

The nominees include Engr Abdussalam Yusuf Ph.D, as commissioner market competition and Rates (MCR), Prof. Abdukarim Ibrahim, Commissioner Legal; Meliga Enema Micheal, Commissioner, Evaluation, Performance and Monitoring (EPM) and Alhaji Mohammed Mabo Kassim as the Commission’s Secretary.

Nominees for Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC) include, Mr Jimoh Muhammed Adinoyi, as Chairman (Central); Engr Ayowande Femi (West); Mr Yahaya Drisu, (East), Muhammed Musa (Central) and Ayodeji Emmanuel, secretary.

The nominees were given the privilege of taking “A Bow and Go” since the 8th Assembly in the state was in a mourning over the demise of its former Deputy Speaker and member representing Dekina-Okura state Constituency, late Rt Hon Paul Enema.

The Speaker, Rt Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf urged the nominees to direct their energy , expertise and resources to the development and improvement of electricity supply to the people of the state.

Speaker Yusuf charged them to put their duties and responsibilities of the Commission’s in ensuring effective and efficient service delivery in the state. (Ends)
