The senator epresenting Kogi East, Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho has launched a free medical outreach aimed at supporting the poor and vulnerable residents of the nine local government areas within his constituency.
The initiative, which kicked off in Ibaji Local Government Area, is set to offer a wide range of medical services, including consultations, free medication, surgeries, and health screenings.
The medical outreach, coordinated by a team of doctors, pharmacists, and medical personnel, will focus on treating common conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and malaria.
Additionally, free eye surgeries and glasses will be provided to individuals in need, while those suffering from dental issues and hernias will also receive free treatment.
Speaking on behalf of Senator Echocho, Alhaji Danlami D. Garba, the Senior Legislative Aide, emphasized the importance of the program in providing accessible healthcare to underserved communities. He explained that the initiative would cover all nine local governments in Kogi East, with medical teams traveling to each area to offer support.
The event was officially flagged off at the Primary Health Care Center in Onyedega, Ibaji, where many residents received free consultations and medication. Echocho’s initiative reflects his continued commitment to improving the welfare of his constituents, particularly in areas lacking adequate healthcare facilities.
As the outreach continues, it is expected to reach thousands of people, providing them with much-needed medical attention and reducing the financial burden of healthcare costs for the less privileged.
