The Jigawa State College of Education Gumel has matriculated 420 new undergraduate students in affiliation with Bayero University Kano (BUK).
The students, comprising the 11th cohort of the institution’s undergraduate program, were admitted into various educational and teaching disciplines after fulfilling all admission requirements.

Speaking during the matriculation ceremony, the College Provost, Dr. Nura Muhammad Ringim, emphasized the institution’s commitment to producing qualified educators for the state and the nation.
He stated, “The college is equipped with the capacity and facilities needed to train students for quality degree qualifications that rival those of any institution in the country.”

Dr. Ringim commended the Jigawa State Government for its unwavering support, particularly in reviewing and increasing annual scholarship awards for students.
He also applauded the government’s role in securing approval for five additional degree programs from the Senate of Bayero University Kano.

Representing the Vice-Chancellor of BUK, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, Professor Salihu Lawan, Dean of Islamic Studies and Sharia, praised the college’s dedication and described it as a leading institution among those affiliated with BUK.

Earlier, the College Registrar, Malam Bala Isyaku, attributed the institution’s achievements to the support of Governor Umar Namadi and his administration. He highlighted the college’s contributions toward addressing the national challenge of unqualified teachers by producing competent graduates.

“Governor Namadi’s focus on education as a key agenda has propelled the sector forward, enabling us to consistently deliver quality education,” he stated, calling on stakeholders to collaborate with the college to further enhance its impact across educational and other human development sectors.

The event reaffirmed the institution’s resolve to maintain high academic standards and contribute significantly to improving the nation’s education system.
