Tinubu Reshuffles Cabinet: Sacks Five Ministers, Appoints Seven New Ones

In a significant cabinet reshuffle aimed at boosting administrative efficiency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the immediate implementation of several key actions.
The changes, intended to enhance governance and better serve the needs of Nigerians, include the scrapping of the Ministry of Niger Delta Development and its renaming as the Ministry of Regional Development.
A statement from the Presidency indicated that the new ministry is expected to oversee all regional development commissions, including the Niger Delta, South East, North East, and North West Development Commissions.
Another major action taken by the president in the restructuring of his cabinet saw the dissolusion of the sports ministry and Administration Overhaul.
According to the statement, the Ministry of Sports Development was dissolved by the President with its functions transferred to the National Sports Commission.
This move statement said is expected to create a more vibrant sports economy in the country.
The Federal Ministries of Tourism and Arts and Culture were merged to form the new Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism, and the Creative Economy, with the aim to enhance coordination in the sectors.
To cap it all in the reshufflement exercise, Ten ministers were reassigned to new portfolios as part of the reorganization while five were sacked.
Seven new ministers named to be fowarded to the Senate for confirmation.
The president also appointed Shehu Dikko as the Chairman of the National Sports Commission Sunday Akin Dare was named Special Adviser to the President on Public Communication and Orientation, working from the Ministry of Information and National Orientation.
