Governor Namadi suspends commissioner following allegations

Governor Malam Umar Namadi of
Jigawa State has suspended Auwalu Dalladi Sankara, the Commissioner for Special Duties, while an investigation is being carried out into allegations brought forth by the Kano State Hisbah board.
The announcement was made in a statement by the Secretary to the Government, Malam Bala Ibrahim.
The statement highlighted the importance of transparency and integrity within the state’s administration, emphasizing that the suspension serves as a precautionary measure to ensure a fair investigation. Ibrahim reiterated the government’s commitment to accountability, stating, “We take all allegations seriously and are dedicated to upholding the trust of Jigawa citizens.”
Sankara was reportedly arrested by the Hisbah board over claims of having an affair with a married woman, allegations he has strongly refuted.
In a statement he issued, he described the accusations as “false, baseless, and malicious,” asserting that they aim to tarnish his reputation.
As a married man, Sankara expressed his respect for marriage and stated he would never engage in actions that compromise its sanctity. He declared his intention to pursue legal action against those responsible for spreading the allegations, urging the public to dismiss what he labeled as politically motivated fabrications.
