The Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) at the National Assembly has strongly refuted allegations of misappropriating N3 billion in union funds, made by member Yusuf Abiola at a press conference in Abuja. Abiola called for audited financial statements and operational reports from 2019 to the present.

In a statement, PASAN Chairman Comrade Sunday Sabiyyi and Secretary Comrade David Ann Ebizimoh labeled the accusations as unfounded and defamatory. They urged members and the public to dismiss what they described as an attempt to undermine the union’s integrity.

The leadership asserted that PASAN has consistently operated with transparency and accountability in its financial management. They emphasized adherence to constitutional protocols in the utilization of funds, expressing willingness to cooperate with any necessary audits.

Sabiyyi pointed out that the alleged N3 billion is an unrealistic figure, as it exceeds the financial capabilities of PASAN’s various state chapters and the National Assembly Service Commission combined.

The union attributed the allegations to disgruntled individuals who lost in recent executive elections, reinforcing their commitment to addressing member concerns and pursuing necessary reforms. They reaffirmed their openness to feedback and suggestions for the betterment of the association.
