Kogi First Lady Urges Women to Pursue Self-Improvement Opportunities

The First Lady of Kogi State, Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo, has called on women nationwide to seize every opportunity for self-improvement. She made this appeal during the distribution of sewing and grinding machines to over 100 beneficiaries, part of the Ododo Cares Empowerment Programme organized by the state Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development at the Government House in Lokoja.

Mrs. Ododo emphasized that this initiative aims to boost small and medium-scale businesses across the state. She urged the beneficiaries to utilize the machines effectively to support their families, cautioning against selling the items.

Reiterating Governor Usman Ododo’s commitment to creating a supportive environment for wealth generation, the First Lady highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to empower women and alleviate poverty. She also expressed gratitude to Kogi State’s Commissioner for Women Affairs, Fatima Momoh, for her dedicated initiatives in supporting women in the region.

Mrs Ododo made the call during the distribution of sewing and grinding machines through the Ododo Cares Empowerment Programme organized by the state Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development to over 100 beneficiaries at the Government House in Lokoja.

The Kogi State First Lady said the gesture was aimed at boosting Small and medium scale businesses across the state, adding that the beneficiaries need to put the items to good use, support their families and warned them against sale of the items.

Hajia Sefinat reaffirmed Governor Usman Ododo’s commitment to fostering an environment that promotes wealth creation for all citizens, highlighting the state government’s concerted efforts to empower women and the broader population with a view to liberating them from the grip of poverty.

The First Lady therefore expressed appreciation to the Kogi state Commissioner for Women Affairs, Fatima Momoh for her initiatives and steadfastness in supporting women in the state through the ministry.
