Commissioners’ Forum Commends Gov. Ododo Over N72,500.00 Minimum Wage

FORUM of Commissioners in the cabinet of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has commended the governor for blazing the trail in approving a living wage of N72,500 for workers in the state above the Federal Government’s N70,000 baseline.

The Commissioners, who gave the commendation via a Communique from their Tuesday meeting issued on Wednesday in Lokoja, said the Governor had through the gesture affirmed his commitment to the welfare of workers and the entire Kogi people.

The Communique was signed by Mr Kingsley Femi Fanwo,
Commissioner for Information and Communications and Information Officer to the Forum.

The Forum held that the governor never left anyone in doubt as far as his commitment was concerned, saying the the civil workforce in the state would reciprocate the gesture through committed service by giving its best to the development of the State.

“We are proud of the Governor’s approach to issues of Workers’ welfare and the welfare of the good people of our dear state.

“The announcement of the N72,500.00 minimum wage and the tax relief granted for a year show that the Governor is indeed a friend of the masses.

“It is an honour to serve with His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo because of his determination and commitment to make Kogi better and greater.

“He has built on the legacies of his predecessors and opened new windows of progress and development. As Commissioners, we are committed to working as his foot soldiers to deliver his promises to the great people of our dear state”.

The meeting of the Commissioners was hosted by Chairman of the Forum, Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris, Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning with all other commissioners in attendance.

The meeting was also graced by the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Mrs Folashade Arike Ayoade, Ph.D. (Ends)
