As Kogi State marks its 33rd anniversary, the Kogi Non-Governmental Organizations Network (KONGONET) has called on the state government to immediately implement the Strategic Development Framework outlined in the 32-Year Development Plan.
In a statement signed by Chairperson Amb. Idris Ozovehe Muraina and Secretary Mr Reuben Joshua, KONGONET emphasized that the framework is a roadmap to inclusive growth, empowerment, and sustainable economic opportunities.
The network urged all stakeholders, including citizens, government officials, CSOs, and the private sector, to unite in advocating for policies promoting equity, transparency, and accountability.
While acknowledging significant strides made by the state, KONGONET noted that much remains to be done, and renewed commitment and strategic interventions are needed to harness resources and foster sustainable development.
The network specifically called on Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration to approve the State Action Plan (SAP) and operationalize the Open Government Partnership (OGP), emphasizing the importance of meaningful dialogue and collaboration to ensure no one is left behind in the state’s quest for progress.
