Professor Trades academia for LG Chairmanship contest

In an uncommon decision, an associate Professor, Abdurraman Salim has given up his lecturing job at the Federal University Dutse in Jigawa State to contest for chairmanship position in Gwaram Local Government Council in the upcoming October 6, 2024, election.
National Update checks revealed that the All Progressive Congress (APC) has selected Prof. Salim as its flag bearer for the position, following recommendations from Gwaram political stakeholders who recognized his selfless contributions to the development of the local government and state.
The Gwaram Community Assembly, a non-governmental organization commended the APC for giving Prof. Salim the opportunity to serve his people.
His candidacy has generated interest in the community, with many seeing it as a positive development for the local government.
