The Executive Chairman of Bwari Area Council, Hon (Dr) John Gabaya, has dismissed claims of multiple taxation in the council’s revenue system. Speaking to residents and business owners, Dr. Gabaya assured that his administration is committed to creating a conducive business environment, rather than stifling growth with excessive taxes.

“We understand the concerns of our citizens and business owners, and I want to assure you that there is no multiple taxation in Bwari Area Council,” Dr. Gabaya said.
“Our goal is to make it easy for businesses to thrive, especially start-ups, and to provide essential services to our residents.”

Dr. Gabaya also emphasized the importance of tax payment in achieving balanced development in the council.
“We need taxes to provide social infrastructure, security, and other essential services,” he said. “I urge all citizens to fulfill their civic obligations by paying their taxes regularly.”

The chairman’s statement comes as a relief to business owners and residents who had expressed concerns about the tax system in the council.
With the assurance, stakeholders are optimistic about the council’s commitment to creating a business-friendly environment.
