NGO builds School for Community in difficult terrain in Jigawa

A Non Governmental Organization (NGO), the Local Right group (LRG) in collaboration with Baba Azimi Foundation (BAF) has built primary School for the children of the poor in Rokoto Sale and Rokoto Ado, rural communities of Jigawa State with difficult terrain.
The N4 Million School project that involved construction and renovation was handed over to the community of Rokoto Sale in Kaugama Local Government Area of the State on Thursday.

In Rokoto Sale community over 300 out of school children who could not go to school because of none availability were discovered by the NGO.
The Program Manager of the Action Aid (AA) and Local Right (LR) Mr Kahinde Arowosegbe, while speaking to our correspondent said the work was successfully completed in partnership with the Baba Azimi Foundation (BAF).

He said they are running many projects in Nigeria adding that Jigawa state is one of the beneficiaries because of its prudent implementation of projects that have direct bearing on the lives of the ordinary citizens.
He said they have chosen to work in three Local Government Areas and in seven communities across in the state.
“In view of this, we have organized a two day workshop at the MTown Hotel Dutse for the rural dwellers. The participants were brought from hard to reached communities that are far from enjoying anything government or social amenities.
“After the workshop in collaboration with Baba Azimi Foundation and state government we formed and inaugurated a forum known as “Inclusive Forum for Accountable Society (IFAS)”.
“The objectives of the Forum include bringing development into rural communities and bringing government closer to the rural communities,” he said.
According to him, members of the Forum meet with the communities right in their localities to listen to their problems and forward them to the policy makers for immediate action.
He said members of the Forum can always meet and discuss issues regarding the rural communities and the hard to reached areas to educate them on certain issues.
“Members of IFAS were drawn from the Ministries, Departments and Agencies, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs, SMEDAN, National Directorate of Employment (NDE) and the Media

“The participating Ministries include, Education, Budget and Economic Planning as well as any other agency that is relevant to the issue.” he stated.

Program Manager of the Baba Azimi Foundation Mrs Fatima Garba Aliyu, indicated that at the moment the Programm has been launched in the three Local Government Areas of Miga, Kaugama and Gwiwa.

“In each of the three Local Governments we picked two communities to implement the programm. In Miga we picked Sabara and Aiban Gero,

“In Kaugama Local Government we picked Rokoto Sale and Rokata Ado communities. While in Gwiwa we picked Juwadi and Dan Abdu communities,” she explained.

According her the communities are located in areas that are hard to reached.
