    By Friday Idachaba, Lokoja.

RECTOR of Kogi State Polytechnic, Prof. Salisu Ogbo Usman has described the Court of Appeal Judgement reaffirming Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s election as victory for the nation’s democracy.

The Rector disclosed this in a congratulatory message to Governor Ododo and his Deputy, Joel Salifu Oyibo, made available to newsmen on Friday in Lokoja.

In the message signed by Uredo Omale, Director, Public Relations and Protocol of the Polytechnic, the Rector said that the verdict was also “a reaffirmation of the responsibility of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to act as an unbiased umpire.

The Rector, on behalf of the Governing Council, Management, Academic Board, staff and students, warmly congratulated His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, on his well-deserved victory at the Court of Appeal.

Prof. Usman also congratulated the Deputy Governor, Comrade Joel Salifu Oyibo, as well as all elected and appointed All Progressives Congress (APC) party stalwarts and supporters of the “Continuity and Consolidation administration on the notable conquest.”

He described the appellate court’s verdict for rightfully upholding the judgement of the Governorship Election Tribunal as victory for the nation’s democracy.

The Rector expressed the Polytechnic community’s gratitude to God Almighty for the significant occasion.

He said that the community was also delighted that the “unnecessary” litigation did not stop Governor Ododo’s determination and dedication to deliver dividends of democracy to the people of Kogi State.

He prayed God to continue to guide and protect the governor as he works “tirelessly to provide good governance for the State.” (Ends)
