Niger Speaker Sarkindaji comiserates with deputy governor over wife’s death
The speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Abdulmalik Sarkindaji has described as shocking and painful the death of the wife of the state deputy governor, Hajiya Zainab Garba.
The late Hajiya Zainab Garba, who is the first wife of the deputy governor, comrade Yakubu Garba died in Minna on Tuesday after a brief illness.
The speaker in a condolence massage issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mallam Shamsudeen Lawal Binaira said the death of the deputy governor’s wife was a great loss not only to the family but the entire state.
Sarkindaji described the late Hajiya Zainab Garba as a humble woman and mother whose demise will be greatly missed by all, adding that “I am personally saddened by the news of the death”.
According to him, while no one can question God over death, the demise of late Hajiya Zainab came at a time when her support and contributions to the building of a New Niger is most needed.
He said it is indeed devastating news and a trying moment not only for the deputy governor but the government and the entire people of the State.
He therefore urged him to see the death of his wife as an act of Allah who gives and takes when it pleases him, saying that he should be consoled by the fact that the deceased lived a good and fulfilled life.
The speaker had earlier led the entire members of the state house of assembly to the residence of the deputy governor to commiserate him where prayers were offered for the repose of the soul of the late Hajiya Zainab Garba.
