Insecurity: Niger is safe for Investors- State Government

Indiduals and organizations willing to invest in Niger State should be rest assured that the wave of insecurity in parts of the state occasioned by the activities of bandits and insurgents will not pose any threat, the State Government has indicated
The government expressed the believes that the security situation is usually blown out of proportion, noting that the activities of the bandits are concentrated at the rural communities insisting that investors should not be scared from the state.
The state commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Alhaji Aminu Suleiman Takuma said the flash points are restricted to isolated areas of the state which do not affect most of the locations investors would like to operate from.
Briefing newsmen in Minna on Monday ahead of the “Nigeria Public Private Partnership (PPP) Network Meeting slated for Minna the state capital on Wednesday, Takuma however indicated that the state government “is doing all within it’s powers to contain terrorism and banditry in the state” adding that the Governor, Alhaji Mohammed Umaru Bago has been synergising with the Army and other security agencies to ensure all parts of the state are secured and safe for investors.
Takuma assured potential investors of their safety and those of their investments saying “Niger state is large, areas where banditry occurs are about six hours from other parts of the state”.
He disclosed that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation Senator George Akume will deliver the key note address at the during which he will highlight the ” Critical role of PPPs in our National Development Strategy”.
The commissioner also pointed out that the state Governor Alhaji Mohammed Umaru Bago will also “share his vision and initiatives on leveraging PPP’s for the development of the state infrastructure and economy”.
The Commissioner said the meeting is being held as a testament to the governments commitment to fostering collaboration between the public and public sectors, therefore during the meeting participants will visit PPP executed projects in the state capital.
