SGF Akume applauds Gov. Ododo’s welfarist approach in governance

Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume has applauded Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State for the positive disposition of his administration in making the welfare of the people topmost priority.

Akume gave the commendation on Tuesday when he received Governor Ododo who was on a courtesy call to the SGF in his office.

The SGF gave the governor’s administration a clean bill of health as he commended its performance in his One Hundred Days in office, urging him to stay focused on performance and ignore detractors.

Sen. Akume noted with admiration the drive and positive disposition of the Governor in prioritizing the welfare of the people of the state which he described as the hallmark of good governance.

The SGF who is also a former two-term governor of Benue State stressed that Governor Ododo’s record of performance had already set him on a good trajectory as an emerging leader in Nigeria.

Akume encouraged the Kogi Governor not to succumb to criticisms and blackmail saying, “Do not be distracted by criticisms because you have started remarkably well.

“And I am sure you will continue this way till the end of your tenure in office, may God be with you.”

Earlier in his remark, Governor Ododo said the visit was in appreciation of the SGF’s sustained support for his administration since he assumed office as the Governor of Kogi State.

Governor Ododo described Sen. Akume as a patriot whose record of achievements in public office is worthy of emulation by the younger generation.

He solicited continued support of the SGF in achieving the development agenda of his administration in Kogi state.

Governor Ododo was accompanied on the visit by the state commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barrister Deedat Ozigi Salami and the Technical Adviser to the Governor on Multilateral and Donor Funded Projects, Dr. Abdullahi Ozomata. (Ends)
