    Kogi CP presents cheques worth N39.04m to families of deceased Police officers

    By Friday Idachaba, Lokoja.

    Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Bethrand Onuoha has presented cheques worth over N39.04 million to 25 families of deceased Police Officers and operational accident victims in the Command.

    The Commissioner said that the disbursement from the Group Life Assurance And Group Personal Accident Insurance Schemes of the Nigeria Police followed the approval of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun.

    Onuoha, while presenting the cheques said the gesture was aimed at improving the welfare of the families of deceased Police Officers and to also support Police Officers involved in accidents while carrying out their duty.

    The initiative, he said, also aimed to encourage other Officers in active service to be diligent.

    According to the Commissioner, the Nigeria Police Force recognizes and appreciates the sacrifices made by deceased officers as well as operational accident victims, in securing the Nation.

    He urged the beneficiaries not to misuse the money but make judicious use of it for the betterment of their families.

    The beneficiaries according to SP William Ovye Aya,
    Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Kogi Command appreciated the IGP for the gestures and pledged to make judicious use of the money for the benefit of their families.
