ALHAJI Muritala Yakubu Ajaka, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate in the November 11, 2023 governorship election in Kogi State has called on Christians to personify all the virtues and significance of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Ajaka who made the call in the Easter message he personally signed and made available to newsmen on Sunday in Lokoja, felicitated with the Christians in the state, Nigeria and worldwide.
“The historical occasion of today is rooted in the christian faith in remembrance of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Cross and his Resurrection.
“As the celebration of this day is synonymous with selflessness, sacrifice and love, I’m admonishing the brethren to embody all the virtues of what this day signifies.
“Anywhere there is sacrifice, love and selflessness; there peace, unity and progress will be inevitable.
“We must use this historic day to pray and recommit ourselves to the quest for the salvation of our state, patriotism to our nation and tolerance for one another irrespective of faith, tribe, affiliation to political party and other sentiments”, he said.
Ajaka, while wishing the people peaceful celebration renewed his call for the peaceful coexistence of all kogites within and outside the state.
“There is no other truth outside the known and established fact that we are one united family”, he said. (Ends)
