Meningitis: NOA Warns against over crowding, environment with extreme temperatures

In its bid to curb the spread of cerebrospinal meningitis, the National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Jigawa State has warned citizens against over crowding and environment with high temperatures
The agency spoke through its director in the state, Mr Ahmed Ibrahim in a press statement that was made available to newsmen in Dutse.
The statement cautioned the people to stay safe by making sure that their environment is well ventilated to forestall the incidence of meningitis in the state.
In view of the cases of meningitis recorded in Jigawa and neighboring states where the outbreak has caused Hazzard to many households Ibrahim warned that meningitis can cause serious complications and can quickly become life threatening.
The NOA Director therefore urged citizens to practice good hygiene and avoid environment with high temperature especially by sitting in airy environments.
While urging the Muslim faithful to utilize the Ramadan season to embrace the values of care, compassion, generosity and unity, the state Director also emphasized the need to use the fasting period to pray for the nation.
