Edo Polls: LP Imasuagbon gives Obaseki, PDP quit notice, Oshiomhole, APC yellow card
An aspirant under the platform of Labour Party (LP) for the Edo State September, 2024 gubernatorial election, Kenneth Imasuagbon, has indicated that his foray into the race is a quit notice to Governor Godwin Obaseki’s stay in the government house and all he represents.
Speaking after picking his nomination and expression of interest forms as the first aspirant to do so, he boasted that he was also issuing a yellow card to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its leader in Edo State, Senator, Adams Oshiomhole.
Imasuagbon stated that the purchase of his nominstion form was facilitated by various groups in Edo State in recognition of his many contributions across the state.
The aspirant popularly called the “riceman” was the first aspirant to pick his form for the Labour Party in the state. He said when he emerges as the standard bearer of the party, it would be a red card for the ruling Peoples Democratic Party and all other parties seeking to capture the office of governor in the state.
According to him, said having traversed the state 10 times in the course of his campaigns, he said he would not be tired to undertake another bout, to connect with the people and seek their support for the Labour Party in the forthcoming election September 2024.
He said He has invested his emotions, finances and goodwill to the development of the state and would appreciate the support of the people to deploy state resources to the same purpose for greater benefit of the people.
According to him, his aspiration is open to any kind of primary, be it indirect or direct primaries as his connection to the people would tell of his popularity.
The National Organizing Secretary of the party, Clement Ojukwu who presented the form to him said the party would ensure a free and fair primary that would produce a rancour free candidate who would Garner the support of the other aspirants amd the party for the elections.
