The Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Bwari Area Council Branch on Monday extended the industrial action they embarked upon a week earlier to seeking the face of God over their demands.
They are asking God to visit the leaders who are holding down their progress by withholding their right to good living to change them for good.

NULGE Bwari Area Council branch in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) led by their Chairman, Emmanuel Ishaku barricaded the council secretariat with their vehicles grounding all activities last Monday.
According to them, they had exhausted all avenues including writting to the minister Nyesom Wike, in which they raised issues on the non-implementation of their 40 per cent allowance, pension deductions, statutory deductions and other rights and privileges.

Chairman of NULGE Bwari Area Council branch Comrade Emmanuel Ishaku who spoke on behalf of the union said,
“The strike continues and today has been specially earmarked for a special prayer for this course across the six area Councils in the FCT. Just like you see us occupying the gate of our Council the same thing is happening in all the five other Area Councils. “The essence is to ask God for his special intervention on this matter because we have found out that some of our leaders that are even supposed to shoulder our course are the ones that are trying to sabotage our efforts.
“So we are praying to God that sees the hearts, because they say the heart of the King is in the hands of God and so we are lifting them up in the hand of God to make them see reason to give us our rights.
“The demands we are making are our rights and not privileges. So that we also can along with our counterparts in FCTA and other agencies enjoy that they are enjoying already. Why are they depriving us?

On whether there is no end in sight over the strike action, he said a lot of talks and negotiations are ongoing adding that definite resolutions have not been reached yet.
