Gov Uzodimma takes oath of office for second term as Imo gov
Hope Uzodimma, has taken the oath of office for a second term in office as Governor of Imo State
The oath of office was administered on Uzodimma at around 3:24 pm in Owerri on Monday after his deputy, Chinyere Ekomaru.
President Bola Tinubu, who spoke at the ceremony told Nigerians not to be perturbed by the mass exodus of skilled workers from the country.
According to him, his Government in collaboration with sub-nationals will train more persons to fill the professional gap in health, tech and other sectors.
Tinubu said the education of children and youths remained a priority for the administration of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Independent National Electoral Commission announced Uzodimma as the winner of the state governorship election held in November 2023.
Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress was declared winner of the election with 540,308 votes, while Samuel Anyanwu of the Peoples Democratic Party came in a distant second with a total of 71,503 votes.
Athan Achonu of the Labour Party polled 64,081 votes to come third in the election.
