Jigawa wins four 2023 World Bank best performance awards (ACReSAL)

Jigawa state has emerged 2023 best performing state in Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) a world bank supported project.

The state took the first position in two sectors and second position in other two sectors in the project which has made it the best among all implementing environmental and socio-economical related world bank projects.

The governor Malam Umar Namadi’s led administration had released the total sum of N1.2 billion as counterpart leading to the proper Implementation of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL)
While receiving four different best performance awards of the year 2023 on the project, Malam Namadi attributed the successes to the tireless effort of the members of the technical committee in the line ministries of Environment, Agriculture and Water Resources.

Governor Namadi, explained that his administration would do everything possible to improve socio-economic lives of the people in the state.

According to him “We are ever ready to make any fruitful investment in every sector to provide human capital development to produce and maintain productive youth and have a good future”.

“We have seen the reason for releasing the sum of N1.2 billion as counterpart to ACReSAL in the year 2023 because the project would made valuable impact on the social and economical lives of our people in both urban and rural areas”.

He commended the committee and assured of more support for any project that will help in improving the lives of Jigawa People.

Presenting the ACReSALawards to the governor, the commissioner of environment, Dr Nura Muhammad Dandoka said, Jigawa clinched the best position in two areas as well as second in another two areas.

According to him, the two areas that Jigawa emerged best included transparency and Integrity and the release of counterpart to ACReSAL project, while it also came second best in other areas of project implementation and high number of registered Association that benefited from the project.

He commended governor Namadi for his concern and support for the project particularly the increase of counterpart from N200 million to N1.2 billion.
