The senator representing Kogi East senatorial District, Jibrin Isah Echocho has sent a message of felicitations to Christian faithful in his Senatorial district, Kogi State and Nigeria at Large on the special occasion of the commemoration of Jesus’s birth.
In a statement from his media office, Echocho indicated that the festival is unique in that it celebrates the most memorable birth in human history.
“I rejoice with Christians and Nigerians on this auspicious occasion when they celebrate the birth of Christ and his service to humanity.”
He said current hardship in the country occasioned by inflation will soon be a thing of the past as govermmemt at the Federal and state levels are working round the clock to bring about economic recovery and improved living conditions for Nigerians.
“Christ was born in a Manger, in the most deprived circumstances where animals were kept but he refused to be weighed down by the circumstances of His birth.
Christmas is not only a time for merriment, but also a time for deeper reflection.
“The Christmas celebrations calls for sober reflection on the teachings of Jesus Christ which emphasizes sacrifice, love and unity,” he said.
“It reminds us of the importance of unity, compassion, and the spirit of giving.
The senator admonished Nigerians as they gather with their friends and families, that they should remember those who are less privileged to extend a helping hand to them.
He called on the people to continue to be their brother’s keeper at all times.
He stated that irrespective of where the people come from or their religious backgrounds, they must imbibe the spirit of oneness and work towards a prosperous senatorial district.
