Kogi guber: Natasha unveils Melaye in Okene, tells Ebira nation not to be distracted
***Says, her support for Melaye is in the light of a bigger agenda for the Ebira
The senator representing Kogi Central in the 10th Senate Senator Hadiza Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has officially unveiled Senator Dino Melaye, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the November 11, 2023 Kogi State governorship election to the people of Ebiraland.
The event took place on Saturday, before a mammoth crowd in Okene, the political headquarters of Ebira nation.
Natasha told the crowd at her Campaign Secretariat, to come out enmasse on Saturday, November 11, 2023 to vote for Senator Melaye and protect their vote till the end.
“Voting Senator Melaye as the next governor of Kogi state is the only way to guarantee the agenda of peace, freedom, development and social justice in Ebiraland and Kogi State in general.
According to her, she is strongly behind the candidature of Senator Dino Melaye in line with the bigger agenda for Ebiraland “which encompasses the ingredients of better life for all our people”, Sen. Natasha enjoined the people of Ebira nation not to allow themselves to be distracted by any form of mundane agenda.
She said, having been sworn in as “Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and as an Ambassador of the Ebira nation, I will lead the Ebira Nation on the path of freedom, peace, harmony and justice, and that path include electing Senator Dino as the next governor of Kogi State.
The senator thanked the people for standing with her throughout the battle to regain “the mandate you freely gave to me. I will not disappoint you.”
The candidate of the PDP, Senator Dino Melaye, in appreciation of Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, assured the people of Ebiraland that “in conjunction with Senator Natasha, “we will work for the progress of Ebiraland.”
He told the people that he has no any ethnic agenda to pursue in Kogi state, adding that he “will assiduously work in every way to stop percentage salaries, kidnapping, disappearance of citizens, excavation of road during elections and corruption.
He promised to return local government administration back to the people at the grassroots stressing that there can be no meaningful development at the grassroots until the people are allowed to govern their affairs.
