Group applauds Jigawa Gov over N500m Malnutrition Medicine procured for 10, 000 Children

Network for Jigawa Civil Society Organization, has commended Governor Umar Namadi for the timely approval of the counterpart fund for the procurement of Therapeutic Food for the malnourished children in the state.
The commendation was contained in a press statement issued, signed and made available to newsmen in Dutse, by the group’s communication officer, Mr Ibrahim Isyaku.
He indicated that the release of 250 million naira Matching grant to UNICEF is a clear testimony of the state government’s commitment to addressing a number of challenges faced by women and children in the state.
The statement called on the relevant stakeholders to complements government`s effort by proper utilization of the food and other interventions.
It also commended UNICEF and other development partners for the support given to the state government as it pledged to remain vigilant to ensure that all the support get to the beneficiaries.
The network also reaffirmed its commitment to complimenting government`s principles of the 12 points developmental agenda.
The Jigawa state government released the sum of 250 million as counter part fund for the procurement of Ready to Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) to fight acute child Malnutrition in the state.
Findings by National Update revealed that about 10,000 children suffering from acute malnutrition in the state will benefit from governments gesture.
