Faleke counters rumours of his appointment as MD NPA
The House of Representative member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency who is also the chairman, House committee on Finance has debunked the rumour making the round about his appointment as the managing director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).
Multiple reports had indicated that President Tinubu is Considering to Appoint Abiodun James Faleke as MD Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA)
According to the reports, Faleke would soon be named managing director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“His appointment will be made public as soon as feasible, barring any unforeseen developments.” Imran Muhammed, a user of X (formerly known as Twitter), who is well-known for his unique content about Tinubu’s presidency, had made the discclosure
In reaxtion through a statement he personaly signed and made available to the National Update in Abuja on Friday, Faleke said the rumours are basesless without any merit
The statement reads, “Dear Friends and Supporters, I would like to address the recent media speculation concerning my possible appointment as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority.
“I want to make it unequivocally clear that these rumors are baseless and without merit. There has been no such development in the works.
“My focus and commitment remain on representing the esteemed citizens of Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, a responsibility I am dedicated to upholding.
“Please disregard these unfounded rumors, and be assured that I will continue to serve the people diligently in my current role.”
Faleke was formerly also rumoured to be candidate for the position of president’s chief of staff before Femi Gbajabiamila was selected.
He had played a significant role in Tinubu’s victory. Faleke was a key player on Tinubu’s presidential campaign team.
