NNPP suspends its presidential candidate, Kwankwaso, over alleged anti-party activities

The presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, in the 2023 general election, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has been suspended from the party over anti-party activities.

The party’s Board of Trustees issued the suspension notice to Kwankwaso over what the alleged to be anti-party activities which they said was injurious to the party.

The presidential candidate has been honoring with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu both in Nigeria and abroad.

He was alleged to have had an alliance meeting with Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party ahead of 2027 without the consent of the NNPP organ.

The Board of Trustees is the highest organ of the party that advises the National Working Committee on steps to be taken in line with the party constitution.

It could not be ascertained at the time of this report if Kwankwaso has been warned before being slammed with a six month suspension from the party.

The suspension of the Kano based politician would be a major obstacle to the party that newly took over Kano, particularly that there have been accusations and counter accusations of anti-party against some topnotch members in recent times.
