    Eid-El-Kabir: Bello charges Kogites on respect for constituted authorities, be Law Abiding

    Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi has charged the people of the state to respect constituted authorities in all ramifications, be law abiding and security conscious at all times, to enable peace and tranquility in the state.

    Bello who gave the charge while speaking with newsmen shortly after observing Eid-el-Kabir prayer at Okene Eid praying ground on Wednesday expressed gratitude to God for journey so far.

    He reiterated the stance of his government to fulfil his promises of developing the state far better than he met it when he took over the mantle of leadership on January 27, 2016, and urged the people to respect constituted authorities.

    “I thank God almighty who has brought us thus far. This is my last time of praying on this ground as a governor. I thank God for his protection, guidance and the good health we have enjoyed all through my tenure till date.

    “I thank God that I was able to turn around the fortunes of the state far better than I met it in 2016 when I took over the leadership of the state”, he said.

    Governor Bello implored citizens of the state to be patient with the current Government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, assuring that with perseverance, “there are better days ahead under the current administration.”

    The governor expressed optimism that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with the help of God, will beat the country into shape and form to the admiration of all.

    Bello noted that in the last seven years, his government had committed a lot to ensuring that the state remained peaceful.

    He therefore, urged the citizens of the state to cooperate and support him to successfully complete his tenure which is expected to end January, next year.

    The Governor appealed to the Chief Imam of Ebiraland, Sheik Salihu Abere, to use his position as a religious leader to unite the people irrespective of beliefs.

    Bello urged him not to allow any body to dissuade him from performing his functions as Chief Imam.

    The Ohinoyi of Ebiraland His Royal Highness, Dr Ado Ibrahim, commended Governor Yahaya Bello for his developmental strides saying that the governor had touched all regions and every sector of the state economy.

    The Chief Imam, Sheik Salihu Abere, in his sermon reminded Muslims of the need to draw closer to God through intensive prayers and supplications to enable them attract His favours. (Ends)
