Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Dr Salisu Ogbo Usman has called on Christians to Imbibe teachings of Jesus Christ on humility and selflessness for peaceful coexistence and prosperity of the nation.
Dr Usman made the call in an Easter message sent on behalf of the Governing Council, Academic Board, Management, staff and students of the Polytechnic, made available to newsmen in Lokoja.
He enjoined them to conform their lives to the life, teachings, travails, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ for peaceful coexistence and benefit of all irrespective of faith.
“I wish to felicitate with all Christian faithful on the auspicious occasion of this year’s Easter Celebration”, he said.
The Rector urged that in the midst the festivity, the body of Christ should serve as a source of love and happiness to the less privileged and the needy in the society and avoid divisive and destructive tendencies.
“The humble birth of Jesus Christ, His teachings, travails and death are a testimony to the fact that there is a season for everything, and that whatever we do would serve as reference after our passage.
I would, therefore, like to enjoin us to, in conformity with Christ’s teachings, be submissive to God Almighty, radiate love, peace and humility.
It is our sincere wish that we take advantage of this auspicious occasion to pray for the advancement of Kogi State Polytechnic, Kogi State and Nigeria as a whole, so as to ensure attainment of a better society and prosperity for all.
